According to Mundo Deportivo, it has emerged that Real Madrid right-backs Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold are progressing well in their recoveries, as both aim to be available for the first Clásico of the season later this month.

The media mentions that both right-backs are determined not to miss the match, scheduled for October 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Notably, Alexander-Arnold suffered a hamstring injury against Marseille on 16 September, which was initially expected to sideline him for six to eight weeks, putting his availability for the match in doubt.

However, the Englishman is working hard and could return to the squad after the international break.

What about Carvajal?

Carvajal, for his part, suffered an injury to his right calf during the derby against Atlético de Madrid at the end of September.

With a recovery period initially estimated at one month, his participation in El Clásico also seemed uncertain.

The veteran right-back is now accelerating his rehabilitation, with the aim of being ready to face Barcelona.

Having Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold fit would be a huge boost for Xabi Alonso, who currently does not have a fully fit right-back.

In his absence, Raúl Asencio and Federico Valverde have been occupying the positions in Real Madrid’s defense.

Real Madrid will not take any risk

It is quite understandable that, despite the optimism, the club has made it clear that none of the players will be forced to play.

For now, the approach is cautious and no official statement has confirmed whether one or both will be available for the Clásico at the Bernabéu.

The return of either right-back could significantly strengthen Madrid’s lineup, providing Alonso with more options and experience in one of the most important games of the season.

However, should they not be cleared, Valverde can be expected to take over.
