The $0.31 per share is a 3.3% increase from the previous rate which had been stable for the four quarters of 2025. Trinity announced the larger payout in December 2025, which coincided with the company’s completion of a strategic restructuring of its railcar investment partnerships with Napier Park. During the fourth-quarter earnings call, management linked the dividend increase to confidence in its business model.

Speaking of earnings, the company shared its fourth quarter and full year 2025 financial report on February 12. The report indicated that quarterly revenue amounted to $611.2 million, down 3% year over year. This was primarily due to lower external deliveries at Rail Products Group, and was partially offset by higher leasing rates and higher maintenance services revenue.

Quarterly earnings per share from continuing operations was $2.31, down from $0.38 a year ago and well above the consensus estimate of $0.70. The growth was driven by higher leasing rates, gains on sales of lease portfolios, lower administrative expenses and a non-cash pretax gain of $194 million from the restructuring of a railroad partnership, management said.

Trinity Industries, Inc. (NYSE:TRN) is an American industrial company focused on rail transportation products and services.
