Urs Fischer, new coach of Mainz 05
Mainz 05 have announced Urs Fischer as their new coach. The Swiss coach has signed a contract until 2028 and will take charge immediately, with his debut scheduled for the next Conference League match against Lech Poznan.

Fischer previously managed FC Thun, guiding them to the Europa League, before moving to FC Basel, where he won both the Swiss championship and the cup. At Union Berlin he achieved promotion to the Bundesliga and subsequently led the club to the Conference League, the Europa League and even the Champions League. Split from Union Berlin in November 2023.
