Hilton Head Island, SC (WSAV) – More videos of an altercation between teenagers and an assistant of the Sheriff of Beaufort county have been published, who has since been fired since then.
It was confirmed that the officer out of service, who pointed with a gun to the children in the Squator neighborhood of Hilton Head Island, was Sergeant Mayor William Squises.
He was fired on Friday by the Sheriff’s office of the Beaufort county for violating 7 different policies.
The video, broadcast by the family of one of the children, shows what happened after the initial altercation.
One of the children was handcuffed by Squires, who was out of service at that time.
In the video you can listen to Squires talking to the mother of one of the children who came to the scene.
“I care about a damn. If you hits a policeman, she will go to jail,” said Squires.
The boys, who were still visibly upset, shouted at the agent.
“You pointed us with a weapon in the face,” they said.
The boy who was arrested by Squires is the one who showed himself previously pushing the officer in the viral video.
The agent told the people who were close to the place that the teenager was being arrested for “hitting a policeman.”
He also mentioned that the incident occurred after receiving a report that the children took out a gun. It was not confirmed if a weapon was found.
The Sheriff’s office arrived on the scene later in the video.
In the video, an agent walking towards the children and their relatives gathered aside. Another agent approaches Squires and the detainee adolescent.
“I put it in the car,” Squire told the agent who responded.
The officer lifted the teenager and accompanied him to the vehicle, where he is seen putting it in the rear seat of the patrol.
The video ends shortly after. The family said the child was later released by the police after witnessing the videos.
WSAV requested the images of the body chamber of the agents who came to the place, but that request was denied.
The Division of Application of the South Carolina Law is still investigating possible criminal charges against Squires.
