The Minnesota Vikings might have the secret sauce.

They seem to have a way of rehabilitating quarterbacks into stars, with Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones being the two recent examples to learn under head coach Kevin O’Connell before going elsewhere and shining.
A writer for The Vikings Wire, known as Skol Cole, has an idea.
He wants the Vikings to cut JJ McCarthy and then re-sign him so O’Connell can revitalize his career after first acknowledging him as a “failure.”
This is what Cole posted on X:

But it’s a fun way of looking at things, something on the level of a galaxy’s brain.
McCarthy missed his freshman season due to injury, and hasn’t been very good outside of a few quarters in his sophomore season, which has also been hampered by injuries.
There is still a lot to resolve with McCarthy. Will O’Connell also discover it?
Vikings fans surely hope so.
