American online furniture retailer Wayfair has reported total net revenue of $3.1 billion for the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, reflecting an increase of 8.1% from the same period in 2024.
Despite the increase in revenue, the company’s net loss widened to $99 million from $74 million in the third quarter of 2024.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025, the retailer’s U.S. revenue rose 8.6% to $2.7 billion, while international revenue rose 4.6% to $389 million.
Excluding its exit from Germany, Wayfair’s total net revenue grew 9% year-over-year (YoY).
Net cash provided by operating activities was $155 million and non-GAAP free cash flow was $93 million for the quarter.
Wayfair reported 21.2 million active customers at the end of the period, a decrease of 2.3% compared to the previous year.
The retailer delivered 9.8 million orders in the quarter, a 5.4% year-over-year increase, with repeat customers accounting for 80.1% of those orders, slightly up from the 79.9% reported a year earlier.
Regular customers placed 7.9 million orders, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
The average order value increased to $317, compared to $310 in the same quarter of 2024.
Mobile devices accounted for 63% of total orders delivered in the third quarter, slightly up from 62.9% in the comparable period of 2024.
Niraj Shah, CEO, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Wayfair, stated: “The third quarter was a huge success: share gain accelerated further, with revenue growing 9% year-over-year excluding Germany. We saw orders delivered grow more than 5% year-over-year in the quarter, including new orders now growing (in) mid-single digits for two consecutive quarters.
“This came alongside more than 70% year-over-year growth in Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). Our 6.7% Adjusted EBITDA margin marks the highest level achieved in Wayfair’s history outside of the pandemic period. As we have promised, a substantial stream of profitability is driven by a strong contribution margin and fixed cost discipline as our business has returned to growth.”
