Michigan State hockey opened a pivotal Big Ten series against Notre Dame on Thursday night, earning a 4-2 victory and three key points in the Big Ten standings.
Wearing a throwback 1986 jersey, the Spartans were outplayed at times by the Fighting Irish, but as good teams do, they found a way to win when it mattered most.
