Chelsea’s owners will be in complete agreement with where Opta predicts they will finish in the Premier League this season.

Opta have updated their predictions after the final round of Premier League fixtures this week which saw Chelsea lose 3-1 against relegation-fighting Leeds United in what was a terrible performance from the Blues.

Sources: The Blues player was supposed to START the Chelsea-Leeds match last night, but he didn’t come on until late!

As a result of this game, Gary Neville again said that Chelsea need to get out of any title talk right now because they are “miles away” from challenging for a league title.

Personally, I don’t think we’re “miles away” simply because of how inconsistent all the other clubs around us are, but it’s hard to disagree with many of the points you’ve raised here.

The Leeds defeat even caused former Blue Jason Cundy to go on a bizarre rant after losing his mind on talkSPORT after the match!

Following the defeat to Leeds, Opta have fourth place as the most likely position they will finish in the 2025/26 season.

Third place is the next most likely place for Chelsea, while they have a 1.33% chance of winning the Premier League.

The owners will be okay with that.

We keep hearing, through press conferences, that Chelsea are not fighting for the title this season anyway, because they have only for now set their expectations of finishing in the top four. So I guess, interestingly, you will be satisfied with these predictions.

Chelsea fans would be believing that by now, after all the money that has been spent on this team, they should be aiming for a higher finish than just the top four this season.
