Wvu Trails No. 23 Byu 28-10 in the midst after the TouchDown of Late Cougar

Western Virginia goes to the costumes of 28 to 10 years after a first half that was defined by the explosive plays of Byu, Montañero’s opportunities lost and a late touchdown of Cougar that turned the impulse just before the break.

The mountaineers opened with Campo Marshal Khalil Wilkins keeping it in three consecutive plays, but the impulse stagnated after only eight yards. The Oliver Straw bettor overturned the field with a 48 -yard kick, and Byu took over his own 13 after a six -yard defeat on the return.

The Cougars responded when Field Marshal Bear Bachmeier connected to the Chase Roberts container for 47 yards to the WVU 40. But the defense of the mountaineer remained, with the supporter Reid Carrico hurrying Bachmeier in an incomplete in the third Down. Kicker Will Will Ferrin lost along torment of 48 yards, keeping it without score.

The mountaineers sought to answer, with Wilkins hitting the open receiver Rodney Gallagher for 13 yards and a first background near the center of the field. But in the next play, he was intercepted by corner Therrian Alexander, who returned it 49 yards to the 3 -yard line. Wilkins persecuted him to stop, but was marked for a horse -neck back, moving the ball at 1.

Byu only needed a click, since Parker Kingston scored to put the Coupars ahead 7-0.

Wvu gathered his best impulse to that point, with the Diore Hubbard and Wilkins corridor carrying the offensive in the center of the field. But in the fourth and 2 in 44, the Tye Edwards corridor was arrested and the mountaineers dump him on the casualties.

Bachmeier made them pay, hitting Kingston for the seam for a 54-yard touchdown that extended the advantage to 14-0 at the end of the first.

Wilkins picked up 9 yards in an archer before receiving a helmet to animator who forced him to the lateral line. The Scotty Fox backup intervened and started a 23 -yard race to keep the trip live before Wilkins returned. The series stagnated in the 30s, but the kicking Kade Hensley crossed a 45-yard field goal to be 14-3 at the beginning of the second quarter.

In his fourth possession, Byu leaned on the short launches from Bachmeier to Cody Hagen and runs for LJ Martin. An interference call to corner Michael Coats, thrown by an official throughout the field, moved the ball to the center of the field. The Cougars arrived in the red zone, but Chase Wilson security intercepted Bachmeier in 18.

WVU began in his own 37 with the Jarret Bowie corridor winning 8 yards at 45. A penalty of byu out of Byu in fourth and 1 extended the trip in the center of the field, but the mountaineers were empty. Wilkins lost 4 yards in a swing pass to Edwards, then threw consecutive incomplete before Straw moved it to the cougar 12.

Byu did not waste time stretching the leadership. Bachmeier hit Roberts in a short right launch, and Roberts released for 85 yards before being dragged down into the 4 yard lines. In the following Snap, Martin lit the medium to put the 21–3.

The mountaineers were three and outgoing after briefly moving the sticks, and Straw’s clearance set Byu in his own 15. But in the next play, Bachmeier kept him and was stripped by the defensive liner Fred Perry, who fell into the Fleabar in the 3rd. 21-10 with two minutes left in half.

Byu responded quickly. Bachmeier connected to Kingston for 35 yards, then found Roberts and Hagen to push within 10. An interference call of pass configured first and goal, and Bachmeier kept him for a 2 yards touchdown to put 28-10 in the half time.

Wilkins was 4 of 10 for 20 yards with an interception while running 13 times for 60 yards. Hubbard added 20 yards and a touchdown in 10 hauls, and Bowie contributed 24 yards. Gallagher led the receptors with two trapped for 14 yards. In defense, Perry forced and recovered a loose ball, while Wilson had an interception. For Byu, Bachmeier was 10 of 14 for 249 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and Roberts had three trapped for 133 yards.

Byu will get the ball first to start the second half, with West Virginia needing an immediate stop to keep the game available.
