Authorities in Stockton, California, announced that four people were killed and 10 others injured following a shooting during a family gathering in a banquet hall.
STOCKTON, CA — Four people were killed and 10 others were wounded in a shooting during a family gathering at a ballroom in Stockton, police officials said Saturday.
The victims included children and adults, said Heather Brent, spokeswoman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. Initial indications “suggest that this may have been a targeted incident,” Brent said during a news conference at the scene.
The shooting occurred inside the celebration hall, which shares a parking lot with other companies.
Investigators are still working to determine a possible motive.
The authorities did not immediately provide additional information about the victims’ conditions. Officials said earlier that many of them were taken to hospitals.
