street. Louis– An officer at St. Louis’ busiest airport shot and killed a man carrying a knife early Friday morning outside the terminal doors, police said. No one else was injured.
St. Louis County Police spokeswoman Vera Clay said the shooting occurred at St. Louis Lambert International Airport around 1 a.m. local time. She said officers noticed the man, who has not been identified, in an area he shouldn’t have been, and he refused to leave.
The man showed officers a knife when they tried to get him to move, Vera said. Vera said the officers used stun guns but the man continued to advance toward the officers and one of them fired his gun, fatally wounding the man.
St. Louis Airport officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment about travel impacts.
