The resolution was approved with 145 in favor, five against (Israel, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay and the United States) and six abstentions (Albania, Fiji, Hungary, Macedonia del Norte, Panama and Papua New Guinea).

It establishes procedures for the delivery of pre -recorded statements, authorizing President Abbas to present his address through the video in the General Assembly Hall, introduced by one of the representatives based in New York in Palestine.

The measure also allows statements through a live link or a pre -recorded video to the high -level conference that takes place in the solution of two states and other high -level meetings.

The arrangements apply only to the current 80th session.

In another action, the assembly of 193 members adopted without voting a decision proposed by Saudi Arabia that allows the Saudi heir prince and the prime minister, Mohammed Bin Salman, to deliver a statement by video or message pre -recorded at the high -level conference on September 22, 2025.

The United States Department of State announced on August 29 that it denied and revoked visas of members of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority in Grounds National Security, stating that they had not been able to fulfill past commitments and “for undermining the perspectives of peace.”
