The situation “is having a terrible impact on civilians who suffer from suffering and hunger,” he told reporters in New York.
“The United Nations condemns the mortal escalation of the Israeli military offensive that took place during the weekend in the city of Gaza, with dozens of murdered or wounded people,” he said.
“We reiterate our call to the protection of civilians and humanitarian personnel and the total respect for international law.”
70,000 more uprooted
In a publication on X on Sunday, the UN agency head for refugees in Palestine, Unrwa, said that 10 of its buildings in Gaza City had been beaten only in the last four days, including seven schools and two clinics that were being used as shelters.
Almost 70,000 displaced people have directed south in recent days, while UN partners had 150,000 movements from north to south last month.
The partners also reported that a third of malnutrition treatment facilities in Gaza have closed due to forced displacement orders, while the Ministry of Health today reported 425 deaths in general due to malnutrition and hunger in Gaza, approximately one third of which were children.
A call for ‘humanitarian access without obstacles’
In recent days, UN partners have managed to distribute 40,000 additional meals every day. Until Saturday, 558,000 daily meals were prepared and distributed by 20 UN partners to 116 kitchens.
“However, health services continue to be strongly limited, since clinics have suspended their services due to insecurity and displacement orders,” said Mr. Dujarric, and added that in Deir Al-Balah, there are only a few ambulances in order and can attend to thousands of people in need.
In addition, 77 percent of road networks in Gaza have been damaged and, according to the UN Coordination Office, Ocha, humanitarian aid continues obstructed.
On Sunday, only four of the 17 missions that the UN coordinated with the Israeli authorities were provided. Seven missions were denied, one of which was destined to deliver water tanks to the north, while four others were prevented in the field, and two were canceled by the organizers.
However, three humanitarian missions were achieved, including the food collection and food load of the Kerem Sharem/Karem Abu Salem.
