PARMA HEIGHTS, OHIO — PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — Police in Northeast Ohio chased down a runaway inflatable pumpkin after receiving calls of a large orange inflatable object on the run.
Body camera footage from the Parma Heights Police Department shows the inflatable pumpkin rolling down the street was difficult to understand.
Officers eventually stopped and impounded the inflatable pumpkin Tuesday night. The footage shows an officer holding the giant plastic lottery and telling his colleague that he was “following it” but it “kept flying”.
After seizing it, several officers tried to deflate it but failed and had to work together to push the giant orange ball into the back of the police car.
“I’ve never seen that before,” one officer can be heard saying about the inflatable Halloween decorations tightly packed in the back seat.
Officers then returned the pumpkin to his home where it is on display “for all who pass it to enjoy throughout the remainder of this fall season,” said Parma Heights Police Department spokesman Sgt. Eric Taylor said in a statement.
