las vegas — A teenage girl was arrested this weekend after authorities say she injured three competing horses at a Las Vegas barn.
Police responded to a report of a horse injured in a barn early Saturday morning and learned that three horses had been intentionally injured with a sharp object, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which did not identify the teen.
The injuries were not life-threatening, but the horses are expected to be unable to compete, according to police.
The teenager was booked on 12 counts of animal mutilation and three counts of willful destruction of private property.
