With their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Indianapolis Colts fell behind the Buffalo Bills in the AFC wild card race, as well as falling even further behind the Jags in the AFC South. With a victory for the Houston Texans on Sunday night, the Colts fell completely out of playoff position.
The Denver Broncos won Sunday to move into first place while the New England Patriots were inactive on a bye. The Pittsburgh Steelers control the AFC North right now after beating the Baltimore Ravens. Still, there’s not much meaning in those division leaders unless the Colts can make a run for it.

The Los Angeles Chargers play Monday night against the Eagles. A loss would leave them tied with Indy at 8-5.
The Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off Sunday night in a big AFC playoff game. Houston’s victory moved them into the seventh and final playoff spot while the Chiefs are on life support.

The Jags won and the Colts lost, obviously. The Texans won a big game Sunday night to edge out the Colts, but the two teams play again in the final week of the season in what could be an elimination game for the loser. The Tennessee Titans gained and fell from the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft for now.
