And this season is no different, with more than a few participating in the click-hungry frame given Brown’s success in a season in which Tatum was injured for most of it, only to return and play at a surprisingly high level. Teammate Derrick White weighed in on such narratives during a recent interview with “Hoops Tonight” host Jason Timpf, saying, “I think the media always tries to create narratives, and I think it’s easy for them to choose,” the Colorado native said. “It doesn’t really make much sense to me, because they’ve both been very successful.”

“The Celtics have been to the Eastern Conference Finals almost every year of their NBA careers, which doesn’t happen,” he added.
“Obviously, it’s hard to get over that last hurdle, but whatever the media wants to say has never made it into the locker room,” White said. “I think those two handle it really well. They’re completely different, but we make it work, and it’s been great to watch their development. Every year…they get better and better.”
“Teams probably tried to corner them before, but now they’re making plays and creating for each other, and that’s something that takes time. They definitely put in the work, they want to get better, and they both do it on both sides of the floor. So it’s a blessing to play with both of them.”
