On average, the southern trip costs more than $ 3,000, according to the UNRwa Palestine refugee refugee agency, which does so outside the reach of many.

Throughout the coastal road of densely populated Al-rara, thousands of residents are aligning to escape, following the orders of Israeli military evacuation, on an exhausting walk towards the central and southern parts of the enclave.

TO UN news The correspondent was there and documented scenes of suffering when the displaced people made the trip on foot.

While some dragged cars with their belongings, others, including women and children, tried to take a break after long hours of walking.

The Gaza Valley Bridge in the Central strip of Gaza has been overcrowded due to the influx.

‘All houses and neighborhoods were bombed’

In the middle of the crowd, an old man named Abu Nader Siam, walks slowly holding his cane in his right hand with his wife, Zakia Siam, on his left. He is exhausted.

“I come from the neighborhood of such Al-Hawa in the city of Gaza. They left no house or neighborhood, except to bomb it,” he said.

“The bombing continues, and they have dropped brochures that ordered us to evacuate. We walked for six hours because we could not find a car or no transport.”

Zakia Siam talked about her trip without stopping after the bombing reduced her home to the rubble.

“We went to Shujaiya neighborhood, and then we were displaced to the neighborhood of Sha’af in the city of Gaza before it was bombarded,” he said.

“Then, we went to the coast west of the city of Gaza and my husband and I stayed there for two nights without a tent. We sat on the sidewalk next to the stores and hid with one of them, then we continue walking.”

Death, devastation and destruction

Another civilian, Mrs. Um Shadi al-Asshkar, carried a bag of belongings while heading to southern Gaza.

“There is death, bombing, bombing and destruction of houses (in the city of Gaza),” he said.

“Even if they had dropped brochures, if there had been no bombing, no one would have left the city of Gaza, they would have stayed in their homes. But there is death and devastation.”

‘I lost 25 family members’

Ayman al-Khatib said UN news That most family members were killed in the neighborhood of Tal Al-Zaatar de Jabralia Camp in the North.

He fled with some surviving relatives. Her aunt clung to her arm, as if she was also afraid of losing it.

“More than 25 family members were killed: my children, my wife, my mother, my brothers and her wives,” he said. Only his aunt, two nephews and a son remain.

“Let’s run under the bombing, and we couldn’t find any transport. They asked us for 2,000 Shekels to get into a car, but we don’t have the money. We don’t have a tent or anything. I made many calls and supplications, but nobody answered me.”

According to UNRWA, the average cost of displacement to the south is $ 3,180 per family. The fuel is scared in Gaza, and there are no refuge supplies for seven months due to the Israeli block.

Last month, Israel announced that it would take control of the city of Gaza and in recent weeks it has intensified the bombardment of high -rise apartment buildings there.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that more than 250,000 people have been displaced from the city only in the last month, including 60,000 in just 72 hours, since the troops advanced in densely populated neighborhoods such as the sheikh Radwan and Tal Al-Hawa.

Hundreds of Palestinian families continued to flee from the city of Gaza in the north of the enclave through the overpopped coastal street Al-Rehy, in the middle of a serious scarcity of transport and high travel costs, as Israeli military operations persist in the city.
