Generali Group has expanded its partnership with 3D geospatial products provider Intermap Technologies to cover more markets in Central and Eastern Europe.

As part of the broader agreement, Generali will add Poland, Hungary and Slovenia to its use of Intermap’s Aquarius risk management and analysis system (RMA).

The added scope is intended to improve the assessment of natural hazards and climate-related exposures in those countries.

The system is used throughout the insurance process, including underwriting, accrual management, reinsurance and claims management.

Intermap President and CEO Patrick A. Blott said: “As climate volatility increases, insurers require consistent, high-resolution risk intelligence that can scale across markets. Aquarius RMA provides Generali with a unified analytics platform to support underwriting discipline, portfolio resilience and capital allocation decisions across Central Europe.

“We are proud to deepen our partnership with one of the world’s leading insurance groups. Recurring service revenue currently represents approximately 80% of Intermap’s revenue.”

The offering brings together automated risk assessment and geospatial data products to address large-scale risk issues more consistently.

The platform combines software, data and automation to process large amounts of location-based risk data into usable information.

Generali is using Intermap’s 3D terrain data and risk analysis to support underwriting, accrual monitoring and claims response across its corporate, SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and retail business lines.

Generali CEE Global Corporate and Commercial Director and Generali CEE Holding Non-Life Insurance Director Samuele Borghi commented: “By expanding our collaboration with Intermap to the highly exposed markets of Poland, Hungary and Slovenia, we strengthen our ability to assess natural catastrophe risks more accurately.

“Equipping our teams with advanced geospatial intelligence for risk assessment and regional accrual monitoring further enhances our underwriting and risk management capabilities.”

Last month, Generali rebranded its global care platform as Redion, bringing together Europ Assistance and Generali Employee Benefits under a single brand and operational identity.

“Generali Expands Intermap Use in Central and Eastern Europe” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a brand owned by GlobalData.
