The iPhone is recognized for its aroma speed, but as fast as an iPhone and iOS 26 can be, there are still situations in which your device can start slowing or feeling that it has a lower performance. Fortunately, cleaning the cache of your device is one of the easiest and fastest ways to give your iPhone an increase in performance, as well as potentially release some storage space.
For those who are not familiar with the term, the cache is essentially storage for temporary files to which their device, applications or internet browsers must access frequently. These files stored in cache help save time since there is no need to continually recover them from permanent storage, but the cache system can be bogged when there are too many files or if certain data are corrupted. You can erase your system cache through a hardware restart, while the process for Internet browsers depends on which software is using. However, most can be erased through the configuration in the application.
Certain third -party applications, such as Spotify, can have their own way of erasing the cache, which can often be found in the application settings menu. Unfortunately, listing each application here is not possible, but there are ways to erase the cache of an application directly through iOS. If your browser, device or a specific application is being blocked or slowed down, or you are receiving warnings about low storage, knowing your options is the first step to solve these problems.

Delete the system and storage of application cache
While the newest iPhones generally do a good job by managing the memory of the system on their own, performing a simple restart periodically can still help eliminate the accumulation of unwanted temporal files. Fortunately, the process is as easy as holding one of the volume buttons and the food/sleep button until you see the sliding control off. Drag the sliding control to the right, then wait 30 seconds and turn on your iPhone again with the ignition button.
If you have an iphone 8 or more, you just need to press and press the ignition button to raise the closing slider. You can also find the option to turn off an iPhone directly in iOS navigating to configuration> general> off.
If you want to delete the cache from a specific application, you can download the application, which uninstalls it but retains your data and documents. However, you must reinstall the application if you want to use it again. To download an application, use the following steps.
-
Open the configuration on your iPhone.
-
Choose the application for which you want to delete the cache and select the download application. This will uninstal the application but will maintain your data.
-
Returns the application, if you wish.
Keep in mind that you also have the option to select the application Delete the download application in the application menu. This will uninstall and eliminate the application completely, which will require you to download it again and reinstate it.

Like iOS and third -party applications, you can also erase the cache for your Internet browser. These are the steps to clean the safari cache in iOS 26:
-
Show down and select applications.
-
Show down and select the clear history and website data.
-
You also have the option to close all the eyelashes.
-
If you have configured profiles, choose the profile in which you want to delete the history or choose all the profiles.
-
Touch the history of erasing to erase your cache.
You can also clean your cookies and cache while keeping your history. Go to Settings> Applications> Safari> Advanced> Website data and select Delete all website data. Alternatively, select Edit at the top to start eliminating the sites individually.
If you are in iOS 18 and want to erase your cache before downloading and install iOS 26, you can do it directly from the safari browser:
-
Select the icon that looks like an open book.
-
Select Delete. Then you will be given time frame options.
-
You can also give the option to eliminate a certain profile or all profiles.
For third -party browsers, you can generally erase the cache directly from the application. For example, to delete the cache in Google Chrome, open the application, select the three points and then remove the navigation data. You will be given a time range to select the elimination, then you just have to remove data.
