The owner/president/general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, is taking his victory over the 40-40 draw of his team with the Green Bay Packers. In his scrum after the media game, something that is abnormal throughout the league for the three titles he has, Jones told the press about the Micah Parsons trade: “It is very simple. (Quarterback) Dak (Prescott) was indispensable in my mind, and Micah no.”
I am not sure that it is exactly how Jones expected this game to develop, considering all his talk about the defense of the race. The Packers had their best land game of the year, with much, registering 164 yards on the ground against the cowboys, almost 50 yards more than Dallas.
But, hey, when you are desperate enough for a victory, sometimes a draw.
For Jones’s credit, Prescott played well on Sunday. He completed 31 of 40 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns. His only bag was a loss of 0 yards while breaking his pocket, demolished by Parsons. The three TouchDowns were when the non -similar corners of Green Bay, outside the corners, Nate Hobbs and Carrington Valentine, were attacked.
To add to the rarity of the game, beyond the Micah vs. saga. Jerry that will probably never die, this was the first game in the history of the NFL in which a local team scored 40 or more points and did not publish a turnover, but still did not win directly. Previously, the teams were 300-0 in that scenario.
