The Cowboys owner met with reporters after the team’s tough 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, and was asked about a vague trade he hinted at earlier in the day.

“There’s a trade I can make and I’m leaning toward it,” he said via .
Jones, appropriately, gave no further information. However, he confirmed that the agreement is not yet closed. That’s the opposite of what he said, perhaps wrongly, before Monday night’s game.
The deadline to make changes is set for Tuesday at 4 pm ET. So if Jones is really going to make a move, he’s running out of time.
“We’ll see how it goes tomorrow,” he said, via . “Today is about tomorrow. You shouldn’t do anything, you should wait and see what we do tomorrow.”

Monday night he made a lot of mistakes from start to finish. Dallas’ offense, which has typically been the team’s bright spot, also floundered.
While Jones could be looking at just about anything (he said he just wants to “be relevant” and when he “gets slow, I stir that shit up), Jones likely wants to make a move for his defense. His secondary is very depleted due to several injuries, and cornerback Daron Bland looked terrible Monday night. He even got crossed by Marvin Harrison Jr. at one point while giving up an easy touchdown.
And while it’s not all connected, the Cowboys defense doesn’t seem to be recovering after they sent star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers before the season.

The other part, however, is that the Cowboys are just 3-5-1 on the season. At this rate, they appear to be on track to miss the postseason for the second year in a row.
But even though things aren’t looking good, Jones isn’t giving up just yet.
“As long as you’re involved mathematically, you should be there to do it,” he said via The Dallas Morning News.
We’ll see if the trade (if it ever comes to fruition) makes a difference.
