Washington – A Simi Valley resident was sentenced to eight years in prison for the “heartbreaking experience” of trying to kill the Judge of the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court.

“They have portrayed me as a monster, and this tragic mistake I made will follow me for the rest of my life,” Roske told the judge on October 1.
The case was another example of growing political violence threatened or carried out against public figures in an increasingly polarized country.
Other examples include the murders of the conservative defender Charlie Kirk in September and two legislators of Minnesota in June, two murder attempts against President Donald Trump when he was a candidate in July and September 2024, a fire caused in Pennsylvania Gov. Roske was upset by a draft decision of the filtered Supreme Court that annulled the right to abortion. Roske described the mental health problems in the note and said that the plan was to kill Kavanaugh and then herself, but that therapy and medications have helped her.
“While there are many things in the world for which I am still annoying, I now recognize that violence (political or other) is not the solution,” Roske wrote.
Prosecutors sought at least 30 years; Roske’s lawyers requested 8
The prosecutors had requested a sentence of at least 30 years based on a Searches and Chats history of Google by Roske in the Discord application, which mentioned plans to kill up to three judges.

Roske’s lawyers proposed an eight -year sentence. They argued that prosecutors minimized Roske’s surrender and provided only a superficial analysis of Roske’s mental health problems.
“Like any Internet user knows, searching in Google and the displacement of fatality, even in the dark corners of the Internet, does not equals the criminal intention,” defense lawyers said in a presentation.
Roske flew to Kavanaugh’s house with weapons, then surrendered
Roske had flown from Los Angeles to Dulles International Airport near Washington in June 2022 with a firearm and ammunition, according to judicial records. Roske took a taxi to Kavanaugh’s house in Maryland’s suburbs.
