Surveillance video was shown in a Florida courtroom Tuesday showing how Gervonta “Tank” Davis grabbed his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, by the neck and hair.

The footage, made up of eight clips, was shown during a hearing in which it was determined that Rossel could seek $5 million in punitive damages against Davis after a dispute between the couple last year.
Rossel accused Davis of assault, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a civil lawsuit last October, related to an incident that occurred on October 27 at Tootsie’s, a Miami strip club.
Video obtained by TMZ shows Davis grabbing Rossel by the hair and pushing her out of a hallway backstage at 3:51 a.m. on the day of the alleged altercation. The couple was accompanied by another individual.Advertisement
In the video, Davis continues to push Rossel through the kitchen service elevator area and down the stairs. Rossel turns to look at Davis and appears to beg him to stop, but Davis appears to continue forcefully pushing her down some stairs before exiting through an exterior door into a parking lot.
The video then shows Rossel fleeing back to the club once Davis stops hugging her.
“Your Honor, you can see what happened,” argued a lawyer for Rossel. “What happened is consistent with the sworn statement she gave to police.”
In addition to the civil suit, Davis was arrested in January for assault, false imprisonment and kidnapping. Prosecutors dropped the false imprisonment charge last week because, according to TMZ, they believed it was redundant since the kidnapping charge still remained.

“Tank” filed a countersuit last week, seeking more than $20 million in damages. The star boxer argues that Rossel’s allegations cost him a considerable amount of money because his scheduled Netflix fight with Jake Paul was canceled after the allegations became public. Davis was also stripped of his WBA lightweight world title after Miami police issued an arrest warrant on the charges.
Rossel claimed she was a victim of domestic violence on multiple occasions during her five-month relationship with Davis before the incident.
Davis’ legal team issued the following statement to TMZ after Tuesday’s video surfaced:
“We are disappointed with the court’s ruling today as we do not believe the video tells the whole story.”
Rossel’s accusation is not the first time Davis has been accused of domestic violence. Most recently, the controversial boxer was accused in 2025 of punching an ex-girlfriend in the back of the head and then slapping her during an alleged dispute on Father’s Day. The case was eventually dropped after the woman refused to press charges.
