Both players will enter the final year of their rookie deals in 2026.

Coming out of NFL league meetings last week, ESPN’s Michael DiRocco reported that, along with Walker, the Jaguars had contract extension talks with Strange and Washington.
DiRocco called these “preliminary discussions” and then said the following:
“General manager James Gladstone is optimistic about the chances of extending them this offseason, saying the Jaguars ‘are probably within striking distance of seeing things come to light,'” DiRocco wrote.
As the 2025 season progressed, Washington saw its opportunities increase. And from there, he became Lawrence’s favorite target and, by the end of the season, was one of the most productive receivers in football.
Washington would lead the Jaguars in receiving last season, totaling 954 receiving yards. This included Washington eclipsing the 100-yard mark in three of the Jaguars’ last four games.

Meanwhile, Strange was a very reliable target in the passing game and totaled 549 receiving yards with three touchdowns. However, his presence as a blocker and someone who can line up all over the formation helped expand Liam Coen’s call sheet and add some unpredictability to the offense.
Back in January, and unsurprisingly, Gladstone hinted at the time that keeping Strange and Washington long-term would be a priority, saying, “we feel Brenton Strange and Parker Washington are people we align ourselves with going forward.”
With both players under contract through the 2026 season, the Jaguars have time to get deals done, but the price for both players may only continue to rise if these negotiations extend into the season.
