Jhostynxon García was one of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ many important offseason additions when he was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox on December 4.

However, the 2026 campaign hasn’t gone as planned so far for “The Password.”
Garcia had a great spring training, but was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in March and has gone 9 for 57 with a double, no home runs and three RBIs in 59 plate appearances covering 14 games this year.
Indianapolis then placed the 23-year-old on the seven-day disabled list on Friday due to a back issue.
“Jhostynxon Garcia is being placed on Indianapolis’ Triple-A injured list with lower back tightness,” Pirates insider Alex Stumpf posted on Bluesky.
