Rabiot spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday, days after the Rossoneri’s 1-0 victory over Inter in the Madonnina derby.

Rabiot: Why Milan can win the Serie A title

Fans dream of winning the Scudetto, but can Milan lift the title at the end of the season? Rabiot certainly feels that way.
“There is everything for this to happen. A club like Milan, a good group in the locker room and an important coaching staff,” he said.

“Now we have to work week after week, give our best and make sacrifices. To win you always have to give something extra and have the mentality that the coach instilled in us.”
Rabiot already worked with Allegri at Juventus, and reuniting with the Italian tactician was one of the reasons he moved to the San Siro from Marseille last summer.

“He is a winner and I like his personality,” said the French midfielder.
“His way of training, his passion for football and his ambition. He always gives everything and I see myself in his way of thinking. Off the field he is very positive. He jokes and helps us stay calm.”
“Milan also approached me last year, when I was a free agent, and we talked,” Rabiot continued.
“I would say that I arrived at the right time. The club also wanted me in July, when I was in Marseille, but it was difficult for me to leave. After that incident (the clash with Jonathan Rowe), other Italian clubs contacted me, but I knew what I wanted. Allegri told me: ‘Let’s see what happens’, and something really happened. I don’t know how he does it, but he even predicts the future.”

Rabiot had missed five games before returning to action in last weekend’s derby, and Allegri continued speaking to him even when he was on the sidelines.
“He asked me when I would be back three or four times a day, but really he just wanted me to play when I was ready because the injury was serious,” Rabiot revealed.
“Having a coach who talks to you often, even when he is not available, helps you stay focused on the goal. Allegri is exceptional at this.”
