The prosecutor urges a hard sentence for combs, says he did “horrible things”
A federal prosecutor urged Judge Arun Subramanian to impose a tough sentence to punish Sean Combs not only for transporting male escorts through state lines for prostitution, but also for “amazing” violence.
“The defense has tried to turn this into a minor rape into a lifestyle of sex, drugs and rock and roll,” said the prosecutor, Christy Slavik. “It is clear: this is not just a case about ‘Freak offs’ or hotel nights. It is not just a case about sex. It is a case about real victims who suffered real damage to the accused.”
Slavik said that combs “did horrible things” to Cassie Ventura Ya “Jane” who were in “abusive” relations with him.
“This is not just a case about transportation for prostitution. It is a case on transport for prostitution and violence,” said Slavik.
Slavik threw doubts about the sincerity of combs when he wrote to the judge that he accepted “responsibility and responsibility” for his actions, pointing out a character of character received that said that combs has reserved commitments in Miami for next week.
“That is the opposite of demonstrating respect for the law,” said Slavik.
Prosecutors have urged the judge to impose a sentence of 11 years in prison. Judge Subramanian said the sentence guidelines requested a sentence between 5 and 7 years. The judge retains the discretion to vary the sentence up or down.

The judge says that combs is not regretful of behavior related to prostitution
Judge Arun Subramanian said that he does not believe that they are combs responsible for their behavior related to prostitution.
“Comps has challenged its factual guilt with fullness,” said Subramanian. He said that the music tycoon has not demonstrated remorse for the crimes for which he was convicted.
Comps was declared guilty of transport to participate in prostitution in relation to his ex -girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and guilty of transport to participate in prostitution in relation to another ex -girlfriend, which he testified under the pseudonym “Jane”.
Subramanian also said that he will consider part of the behavior for which ComBs was acquitted when he imposes his sentence.
Combs was found not guilty of organized crime conspiracy, the most serious position. It was also declared not guilty of both positions of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
“The Court may consider the ability to ability to change the range of guidelines,” said the judge.
Although the acquittal cannot be considered to determine the possible ruling of the combs, Subramanian said that the testimony and evidence related to these counts are a relevant context to demonstrate the forces of force used to carry out the crimes related to prostitution.
“There is no doubt that this evidence counts as coercion,” he added. “There were threats of body damage in this case.”
Subramanian also said that he plans to consider as victims in this case the seven companions that combs said he paid for entertainment. The judge said that combs was clearly the organizer of “Freak offs” and hotel nights and paid the escorts, and should be responsible for the behavior.
“The definition of victim is expansive,” he said.
Previously at the hearing, prosecutors tried to withdraw the attempt by the defense lawyers that several people testify about the character of combs during the sentence, arguing that it distracts the victims in the case.
“The defense is trying to drown the voice of the victims in favor of the witnesses of the character,” said a prosecutor.
Subramanian will allow children and the combs pastor to speak.

Subramanian said that he received “many” materials in advance, including the letter of the combs himself, the video that the defense intends to play and an evaluation of the 6-week combs that are taught to his companions of MDC-Brooklyn.
There will be no victims’ impact statements after a former combs assistant who testified under the pseudonym of “Mia” retired.
“This morning, the government learned that ‘Mia’ no longer wishes to address the Court here today,” said prosecutor Christy Slavik, adding that a letter of “intimidation” of the defense was part of his reasoning.
“The tone of the defense letter was inappropriate,” said Subramanian. “That should not be done again.”
