In the footage, Sanchez, a 38-year-old former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst who was in town to call a Colts’ Week 5 game, is seen walking aimlessly, and occasionally tripping, around town shortly after midnight. At one point, he walks down the street before casually returning about 90 seconds later. About seven minutes after that, he is seen chatting with a passerby, according to the footage.

Less than two minutes from that moment, he is seen running down the alley where Tole was previously seen parking his truck. Since the incident, Tole reportedly said he was doing his job exchanging used cooking oil from the Westin hotel.
Sanchez is seen stopping briefly behind a dumpster around 12:24 a.m. ET, according to the footage, before continuing. Sanchez reportedly approached Tole and claimed that the hotel manager told him Tole couldn’t be there.
The footage, which does not show the fight itself, moves forward to show Sanchez fleeing the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. ET. Sánchez is seen returning to the same path he was wandering on before, with his hand over the stab wounds.

Police allege that Sanchez confronted Tole, became aggressive, and then pepper-sprayed and stabbed him after the incident escalated, and Tole alleged that he acted in self-defense against Sanchez, who he claimed smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech. That account is reportedly supported not only by Tole’s statement but also by security footage from nearby hotels.
Although Sanchez was initially charged with assault resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle (all misdemeanors), he now faces a felony charge that can apply in the case of serious bodily injury to another person and can result in prison time.
That charge could be further enhanced, depending on Tole’s condition and potential physical limitations as a result of the violent encounter. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears alluded to that possibility in an interview with “Good Morning America” earlier this week, and “GMA” noted that an aggravated assault charge would carry, upon conviction, a prison sentence of 3 to 16 years.
Tole’s attorney has said his client “will be forever scarred” by injuries that included a large cut on Tole’s cheek.

Sanchez’s attorney waived a pretrial hearing and pleaded not guilty Thursday.
Also Thursday, Sanchez reportedly filed a motion to leave Indiana while he awaits a pretrial conference scheduled for Nov. 5.
