Injured Italian alpine ski star Federica Brignone has taken up recreational skiing and light racing as she recovers from a serious injury, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) said in a statement on Wednesday.
Brignone won the World Cup for the second time last season before suffering fractures to his tibia and fibula, as well as a torn cruciate knee ligament in an accident at the national championships in early April.

He will continue training on the Cevinia slopes and in the gym over the coming weeks, FISI said.
It is still unclear whether Brignone will be fit for the 2026 Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in February.
He recently said that he has not yet given up on the Olympic dream and that he is working “very hard” to achieve it.
