STREET. LOUIS – After eight months as superintendent of Saint Louis schools, Dr. Millicent Borishade has been removed from her position, according to the American Federation of Teachers union.
Borishade was named interim superintendent in July 2024 after receiving temporary paid leave from Dr. Keisha Scarlett, who was officially fired by the school board in September 2024.
In late August, nearly 2,000 AFT union members signed and delivered a no-confidence petition against Borishade following his proposal to close more than half of the district’s schools, with members citing that the superintendent had allegedly left educators out of decision-making.
