Tuesday’s stock market rally has already fizzled out.
The S&P 500 fell 0.1%. The Dow Jones rose just 64 points, or 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite’s gain narrowed to 0.2%.
The stock market has been dealing with a case of bad breadth all morning, but things deteriorated further shortly after 11 a.m. ET. About 186 S&P 500 stocks were rising; The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF fell 0.3%.
