PFF’s Dalton Wasserman dug into the work of the 32 first-round picks who played in Week 13 last weekend. PFF gives us a deeper insight into acting, and Wasserman was able to expose what Egbuka’s work was like.
Wasserman writes: “Egbuka hit four of his eight targets for 42 yards in Tampa Bay’s Week 13 win over the Cardinals. He forced two missed tackles and recorded a first down. Unfortunately, he dropped a pass for the fourth time in his last five games, dropping his PFF receiving grade to a modest 62.0. The Buccaneers will need Egbuka to regain the deep receiving prowess he showed earlier this season if They want to improve offensively down the stretch.”
Egbuka was defended by fellow freshman Will Johnson in a rematch of their time at Ohio State and Michigan, respectively. Against him, he scored below his season average of 69.5 by earning a 61.7. He hasn’t played well in recent weeks, but remains efficient at getting open for Baker Mayfield despite the production.
