A shot in full light of the day that involved several different cars near the starting ramp from interstatal 10 to Thomasville Road left two people injured on October 3 and caused stagnation on the north side of the city.
Shonda Knight, spokesman for the Leon County Sheriff’s office, said the shooting occurred around 5:23 pm
“Three vehicles were hit, and two people in separate vehicles were beaten,” he said. “At least one of those two was seriously injured.”
She said that the most severely injured victim was being comfortable to Shands in Gainesville from the scene and that the other was being treated in a local hospital.
The victims were an adult black man and a white woman, Knight said.

“The suspect fled south in Thomasville,” he said, “and the suspect is still free. But Lcso is actively investigating the incident.”
The sheriff Ron Cave said in a video update around 9:10 pm, although the suspect is generally, “we do not believe that this shooting has been random … we believe that this was an objective shooting.”
“We will continue chasing each and every one of the active potential clients,” he said. “And we are asking any of the community that the incidents that occurred … tonight to communicate with the Sheriff’s office as soon as possible with the information it has.”
At 10:20 PM Knight said he could not provide more details about the suspect at this time.
“All I can say at this time is that we are actively following potential customers,” he said by text message.
Hours before, the LCSO spokesman Javonni Hampton said that the Crime Center in real time of several agencies was involved in trying to find the suspect.
“We have the crime center in real time that tracks all road chambers,” he said.
After the initial call came, the ambulances, the Florida road patrol and the Leon County Sheriff’s office rushed to the scene. The researchers closed the 203 output ramp.
FHP Master Corp. Patricia A. Jefferson-Shaw also confirmed that a possible shooting took place.
“It was some type of shooting call, and a vehicle has fled the scene,” he said, adding that Lcso led the investigation.
The traffic flowed in both direction in the I-10, although the ramp of the Thomasville road remained closed. Half dozen or more of LCSO vehicles are on the scene. You could see the agents looking around the area with flashlights and talking with people who may have been eyewitnesses.

You can see a truck that pulls a boat in a trailer parked on the shoulder of the I-10 in the direction of the crime scene. The agents were seen parked behind the truck with the lights on.
The State 511 website classified it as an “important” incident.
“Police activity in Leon County in the I-10 EAST, ramp to exit 203 (SR-61/US-319/Thomasville RD/Cap Cir). All blocked lanes. Last update at 06:46 PM. Road ranger ahead. Moves or decreases speed.”
Around 7:05 PM, LCSO published a public security alert: “The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is working on a shooting at the I-10 in the east direction of the 203 departure. There are two confirmed victims. The suspect is released. Avoid the area. If you have information, call LCSO 850-606-5800”.
