A ceasefire is needed now
The success of the appeal depends on rapid and flexible funding and ensuring that humanitarian workers can safely reach those most in need, the Secretary-General emphasized.

“In the face of this turmoil, we have seen exceptional courage and solidarity on the ground,” he continued, pointing to schools that have opened their doors to house displaced families and health workers who continue to provide services under immense pressure.
UN supports efforts to save lives
“United Nations agencies and humanitarian partners are Work closely with national authorities to respond urgently.delivering hot meals, clean water, hygiene supplies and essential relief items,” he said.
“These efforts are saving lives, but they need great support.”
The newly launched flash appeal will maintain and expand life-saving assistance over the next three months, including food, clean water, healthcare, education, protection and other vital services, he said.
