The 2026 World Figure Skating Championships, marking the last major event of the season, arrives in Prague this week.
After the Milan Cortina Olympics in February, dozens of the world’s best skaters will gather again in the Czech Republic in hopes of ending the season on a high note. However, some of the Winter Games’ top finishers have withdrawn from the entry list, leaving the door open for other athletes.
While gold medalist Alysa Liu and ice dance silver medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates will not compete, fans can expect to see the return of Americans Amber Glenn and Ilia “Quad God” Malinin as they hit the ice for the first time since the Olympics, where both had disappointing results. Three-time world champion Kaori Sakamoto will also compete in Prague, in the last competition of her career at just 25 years old.
Who will steal the show this weekend?
