Columbus, Ohio – An Ohio grand jury has indicted a man in the double murder of his ex-wife and her husband, who were killed in their Columbus home last month.
He was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury, court records show Michael David Mackey On Jan. 16, for aggravated murder and aggravated robbery while using a firearms restraint device.
McKee, 39, a vascular surgeon who lived in Chicago, Charged In the December 30 deaths of 39-year-old Monique Tibbey, from whom he divorced in 2017, and dentist Dr. Spencer Tibbey, 37, in their home.
No attorney for McKee is listed in court documents.
Authorities arrested McKee in Rockford, Illinois, last weekend. The hospital where he worked — OSF St. Anthony Medical Center — said it was cooperating with the investigation. Columbus Police Chief Eileen Bryant said in an interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday that authorities now believe Mackey is the person seen walking in a dark alley near the Tipis’ home in Video footage From the night of the murder. His vehicle was also identified driving near the home, and a firearm was found at his Illinois residence that matched evidence found at the scene, she said. The authorities did not reveal the type of firearm used in the killing.

Police also said no weapon was found there, and no murder or suicide is suspected. Nothing was stolen, and the couple’s two small children and dog were left unharmed in the house.
Byrant said police encourage the public to continue offering tips. She said emails, phone calls and other messages left with CPD helped them gather enough evidence to make an arrest.
“We want to thank our community specifically for stepping up and reaching out and providing us with information and being open to sharing that with us,” she said. “It was tremendous.”
