From everything, I miss my family and friends of childhood … and marite.

If you are an American and you don’t know what Marmite is, you probably don’t want to find out.
I used to think that it was a byproduct of beer elaboration of beer, but, as I matured, I realized that we should not know. We simply accept that it is sold in glass jars, it is thicker than motor oil and, apart from apart, is delicious. Most people in the United Kingdom add it to a grill cheese, which is good, but combining it with cream for a marmita sauce to pure potato puree is ideal for their Sunday roasts.
The reason I mention it is because there is a saying at home. Or you love marite or hate it. There is not in the middle. And, when it comes to combat sports, Whittaker is a marite boxer. Or you’re going to love him, like me, or you hate him, like you rare.
This is the type of fighter fighting room is inheriting.

Some might think that it is negative, but in reality it is the ideal basis, because the worst in boxing should not be hated. It is even known. It is to resonate so badly with fans that people are not even aware when your next fight is.
Worse, it is if they don’t even care.
In the fighting game, you want fans to feel something. Anything. You want you to care, regardless of whether that is for good reasons or bad. Floyd Mayweather knew better than anyone when he leaned into his polarizing personality of “money” after breaking into the scene as the “pretty child” of sport.

Although Whittaker is more Emanuel Augustus than Mayweather, Floyd often quotes “the drunk teacher” as the most difficult fighter he has faced in his 50-0 career. And no one has had an easy night standing in front of Whittaker, who is the pugilistic troll of this generation, bouzing people in the nose and dancing while pointing to a mocking crowd.
It leads to the movements that no boxing coach in Britain taught, and does it with a smile and a dance as if it were a textbook all the time.
Nothing about Whittaker’s education is conventional. His true inspiration was Mario Kindelán, the great Cuban fighter whose mixture of precision, rhythm and Swagger disguised the technique as mischief. Whittaker also has that art form, since it is a shameless showman, which is an approach that has already bothered fans and combatants.

However, not all fighters.
“It’s great and very entertaining,” Michael “Venom”, another Marmite fighter from England told UFC non -crowned.
I spoke with Page last year while preparing to fight against the UFC Welter weight Ian Machado Garry in Las Vegas, two weeks after Whittaker dancing for a unanimous decision on Ezra Arenyaka in London. However, Whittaker’s victory was not exempt from controversy, since his constant exhibition enraged his opponent so much that Arenyaka hit him.
Page described the lack of “unpleasant”, but offered constructive criticisms to help the development of Whittaker. His head movement is great, Page said, but “he immerses himself in the wrong place, which can sometimes see him caught.” The key, aggregate, does not let the showBoating dominate tactics. “If you spend too long doing it for the reaction of the crowd, it will become more difficult as it progresses in the competition,” Page said. “That is not going to win fights.

“His hands are incredible. Slide one, slide another, then land his shots. He not only slips, slips. He cannot win alone in defense, but … he is an exceptional fighter.”
Whittaker has fought twice since then, which came against Liam Cameron, exchanging a technical draw before finishing Camero with an unpleasant second round strike last April.
With the poise of experts, the feet game and the selection of shots, it did not spend much time before Whittaker found its range and rhythm in the rematch and felt with Cameron, thanks to the hooks and combos of two blows. Then everything came to an end before the six -minute brand. Whittaker countered Cameron with a crispy right hand in the middle of the second round and forced the strike of an arbitrator of the flood of tracking. Whittaker, of course, then celebrated too much on the faces of his opponent’s coaches.

That combination of art, arrogance and calling arts probably is part of the reason why the brass of the phosphorus room such as Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith rushed quickly. In the statements sent to the non -crowned, Hearn called Whittaker “phenomenal” and “the best firm to do in boxing today.” Smith agreed, calling him “a future legend of British boxing” and a “change of play” of a firm.
And Smith is right.
Whittaker movement is the most significant domestic transfer for the British scene in 2025.
The power between Boxxer and Matchroom also changes.
Ben Shalom Boxxer has had significant platforms in Sky Sports and now BBC. And part of its strategy in these channels has been to build a younger audience with fresh face fighters such as the superstar of the United Kingdom Chris Eubank Jr., the Azim Adam and Hassan brothers, and Whittaker, which was possibly being built to become the face of the entire Boxxer operation.

Losing Whittaker is a public and commercial relations coup, particularly when he goes to Hearn, a Shalom arch
Matchroom, meanwhile, desperately needs younger blood that has the potential to boost most of its boxing income in the future, as Anthony Joshua and Katie Taylor have done for more than a decade. “AJ” and “KT” are at the ends of their respective races, and Matchroom has been pursuing a national spark to compensate for the losses that will bring the retreats from the near future of Joshua and Taylor. Whittaker is a credible candidate to take the baton; Young, extravagant and with a style in the ring that should attract in the United States, if the phosphoros room once took the show “of the surgeon” along the way.

“I’m ready for the next step,” Whittaker said. “With Andy reads in my corner and in the matching room behind me … I will become a family name and one day I will become a world champion.”

However, Matchroom has its trimmed work. It is not an easy sale at this time.
In the first Whittaker fight with Cameron, both fighters fell down the ropes of the rings. And, with Whittaker unable to continue, the fight was declared a technical raffle. This led to accusations of the mentality of a resignation, with Cameron even claiming Whittaker “at 100 percent to quit smoking (because) was exhausted.”
It is difficult to shake such perception. Ask Daniel Dubois, who was perceived that he resigned in his defeat of the single against Joe Joyce, when he was filmed under implacable pressure in 2020. Any notion that his career at the elite level could not have finished the truth considering, since then, Dubois shared the ring with oleks usyk (twice), and mistreat and Jarrell and Filip Hrrgovic.
An exciting victory in a stadium fight can make wonders for a race. It happens that the stadium fights are the fort of the party room.

Like marmites, Whittaker will never please everyone, but that is the point. Some will love the show, others will rise their nose to the supposed arrogance of possibly the most charismatic boxer and ready for virals in the United Kingdom
But after years of the same names, and many of those who retire, British boxing needs someone to make people care again.
Ama or hate it, Whittaker makes you feel something, and that is worth every bottle on the shelf.
