Well, it looks like Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales won’t have to answer any more questions about a possible reunion with Adam Thielen.

As announced this afternoon, the former two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has been claimed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thielen received his release request from the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

After spending the first decade of his NFL career with the Vikings, Thielen signed a three-year deal to join the Panthers ahead of the 2023 campaign. He then led the team in receiving during his two seasons there, totaling 151 receptions for 1,629 yards and nine touchdowns in 27 games.

The Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, native then returned home in late August, when Carolina traded Thielen, a 2026 conditional seventh-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.

Thielen had just eight receptions for 69 yards in his 11 games with the Vikings this season.
