The 6-2, 225-pound pass rusher received a few offers from Division II and III schools, but decided to sign with Cisco Junior College. The plan, like many who go to JUCO to start college, was to play there and hopefully get an offer to a Division I school next year. Well, LaAllan Clark and Steve Sarkisian sped up that process and he will join the Longhorns in the summer.
As for why Tita didn’t have more interest outside of high school, her role might have something to do with that. He played on the interior of the defensive line more than as a pass rusher, where he will likely fit in the future. The district shot put champion brings elite explosiveness to the table that is intriguing if given time to develop.I wouldn’t expect Tita to be much more than a depth piece during his first two years in Austin. That said, there is a clear skill here that could make him a dangerous player over time. Given the open spots on the roster, this one is worth a try. On top of that, I imagine he’ll show up ready to get to work for the only Division I team that’s interested in him.
